Who is Meagan at her core?
Through my childhood and the first half of my life, I struggled a lot to figure out who I was. I defined myself in relationship to others and what I was good at, but not necessarily what I wanted to learn and do. I was a “great friend”, “hard worker, “smart” and “caring”. I am still those things today, but it took me until now, in my 30s to find the life I have now, where I feel that what I do every day matches with what I am meant to do in this world. I am a woman who believes in herself and loves herself today, more than ever. I am passionate about helping young girls and women thrive. I am a woman who does not look like what she has been through. I am a risk taker. I am a leader. I am an empowered woman.
Why are you so passionate about helping others?
I have always been passionate about helping others since I was a young girl. I am a natural caregiver and am looking to make a difference. I am blessed that I can help others and be supportive to their needs as it feels great to be compassion to someone else needs. I have always had an interest in helping young girls and women find their destiny. Drawing on my own experiences of abuse, rejection, and abandonment, I decided to use my words to encourage young girls and women to build a home within themselves; to love, live, and create fearlessly.
As a 21-year-old young woman, I was lost and broken. I didn’t like or love myself. Now, a woman in my 30s, I have learned to love every part of myself. I would tell the 21-year-old Meagan that no matter what, keep pushing and believe in yourself no matter what. I would tell my younger self that she matters and know that no matter what, GOD will always provide.
I have two businesses. Maize Consulting is a Human Resources Consulting firm, that specializes in helping startup, small and medium size businesses assess their current human resources needs. Meagan Copelin Global is the parent company of various brands, to include Mental Rich. Mental Rich is a mental health movement dedicated to helping women of color who suffer from mental illnesses, steaming from abuse, abandonment and rejection
What’s next for Meagan personally?
Personally, I would love to settle down and meet the love of my life and become a wife and mom. I pray that GOD blesses me to become the things I desire one day. I know GOD will bless me and I am confident
What is the one thing that you know for sure?
One thing that I know for sure is that GOD is the center of my life and I make no moves without him. I also know that no matter what, I will succeed in life.
What advice would you give to that person who’s business is no doing so great and wants to give up?
Remember, Rome was not built in a day. Do not give up. Dedicate time to work on your business daily. I would also say give up on the short-term mindset. It is also important to invest in the right resources for a business to grow, whether that’s reading books or hiring a coach. Just don’t give up.
How do you handle setbacks?
I handle setbacks through prayer. I have a prayer room in my house, and I post scriptures and positive affirmations on my wall. I also remain positive and understand the things may have shift for many reasons. I continue to learn and grown from setbacks in an effort to do and think better.
What is the greatest lesson that you have learned in ministry/business?
I have learned that not everything I do in business needs to be announced to the world. I have also learned that all starts with GOD, daily growth is important, a positive attitude makes a difference and balance is very essential. I have also learned that collaboration is fundamental in business.
Define success.
Success to me is to live the life I truly want and deserve, and not just the life I settle for. Success is truly a peace of mind.
